Tender for tourism signage
New tourism and heritage signage is set to be installed in and around Cavan Town.
Cavan County Council is advertising a contract for the manufacture, supply and installation of new directional and informational, tourism and heritage signage for the county town.
Part of a ‘Destination Towns’ project, the council hopes to award the tender by the end of February, and have work begin on the project in April/May.
A spokesperson for the local authority informed that the new signage has already been designed. They added that a “separate piece of work” also funded under the same Destination Towns scheme will see an “upgrading of the public realm” outside Townhall.
“These works are due to start in February. Cavan Town was awarded €404,000 by Fáilte Ireland under the Destination Towns scheme, which is funded under the Government’s Project Ireland 2040 strategy with the aim of driving sustainable growth in the Irish tourism sector and higher revenue and job creation around Ireland.”
