Gallagher "very proud" to be appointed government whip in the Seanad

Senator Robbie Gallagher has been appointed as Government Whip in the Seanad.

Senator Robbie Gallagher was elected to the 25th Seanad on the Labour Panel and has been serving as Deputy Government Chief Whip in Seanad Éireann.

Welcoming the appointment, Tánaiste Micheál Martin said, “Robbie has been a very committed Deputy Government Whip in Seanad Éireann. I look forward to working with him in his new position as Government Chief Whip in the Seanad in what will be a very busy legislative agenda.”

Meanwhile Senator Gallagher said he was "very proud" to take up the position as Government Whip in the Seanad.

“The Seanad has a very important role to play in this period of the Government in what will be a very busy time in terms of legislation. I look forward to working with my colleagues across the political spectrum in advancing important legislation in Housing, Health, Justice and the Environment.”
