Cavan artist on bill for Russell Crowe party
Cavan singer-songwriter Lorraine O'Reilly is to join Hollywood actor Russell Crowe when his Indoor Garden Party gathering of musicians plays in Australia later this month.
The Kildallan-native and the star of Gladiator are long-time musicial collaborators, duetting both live and on recordings, a relationship that came about from Crowe and Lorraine’s mutual connections with Ronan MacManus and Celtic folk rock band, Biblecode Sundays.
It has led to her wowing audiences alongside Crowe on multiple occasions since, and she is currently billed to appear among the guests at his 'Indoor Garden Party' concert at Hoey Moey in the pictureque Coffs Harbour for two nights, January 23-24.
Lorraine has travelled halfway around the world because she is due to lend her incredible vocals when Crowe returns to the recording studio at his sprawling 400 hectare Nana Glen ranch near Coffs Harbour.
London-based Lorraine previously preformed with Crowe and his fellow IGP musicians on a 2017 multi-venue tour of the UK and Ireland, taking in London’s Union Chapel, Leeds City Varieties Music Hall, and latterly Dublin's Olympia Theatre.
During an interview on The Late Late Show at the time Crowe name-dropped Lorraine to host Ryan Turbridy, and in promoting his upcoming show, he has shared recordings on social media of Lorraine singing from the Union Chapel concert.
In 2019 Russell the talented pair then recorded at Abba's Polar Studios in Stockholm, along with several private gigs.
