Kathleen Clerkin

34 Highfield Rd., Cavan Town, Cavan / Lisnalong, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Kathleen Clerkin, (nee Connolly) 34 Highfield Road, Cavan. December 19th 2022. Predeceased by her parents Bernard and Margaret Connolly, Raw, Lisnalong, Co. Monaghan. Sadly missed by her loving family, son Ciarán, daughters Sharon (son in law Gerry) Lorraine (Brendan) Valerie, (Kevin) brothers John (sister in law Bridie) Michael and sister Betty (brother in law Seamus) her cherished grandchildren Craig, Corey, Ronan, Lauren, Emma and Eoin, all her nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours, and her many friends.

May she rest in peace.

Kathleen will repose at her home in Highfield Road, Cavan (H12 FK68) on Thursday evening from 4pm until 8pm. House private at all other times. Removal from her home on Friday morning at 10.30am to the Cathedral of Ss Patrick & Felim, Cavan arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am. Following Mass, the cortege will travel via Cootehill to St. Mary’s Cemetery, Latton, Co. Monaghan for committal prayers and burial in the family plot. Please be mindful that Covid 19 is still with us and you are asked to take every precaution to keep everyone safe while attending the Funeral.

John Greene

Wolf Tone St., Cavan Town, Cavan / Inishbofin, Galway

John Greene. Wolfe Tone St., Cavan Town and formerly from Inishbofin Island, Co. Galway. Tuesday December 20th 2022, peacefully in the loving care of his devoted family and the wonderful caring staff at St. Josephs Nursing Home Lisdarn, Cavan.

John will be very sadly missed and dearly loved by his wife Valerie, daughter Margaret, son in law John Quinn, his adored grandchildren Paul and David, sister in law Jackie, brother in law Joe, nephews, nieces, all his extended family, relations, neighbours and many friends.

May he rest in peace.

John’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the nurses, carers and staff at St. Joseph’s, Lisdarn for their wonderful care of John while he was with them.

Brendan O'Gorman

Brendan O’Gorman, late of Shankill, Co. Dublin and formerly of Swanlinbar, Co. Cavan, South Africa and England. Predeceased by his parents Tom and Elleanor, his brother Hugh Joseph, and his daughter Ann. Deeply missed by his beloved partner Rita McCauley, son Mark, daughter-in-law Lucy, grandchildren Liam, Lewis, Connor, and Callum, granddaughter-in-law Leah and great-grandchild Callie, all the McCauley Family, including the many McCauley grandchildren and great-grandchildren and by his extended relatives and friends.

Reposing at Colliers Funeral Home, Old Connaught Avenue, Bray, Co. Wicklow from 5.00pm-7.00pm on Thursday (22nd December). Funeral Mass on Friday (23rd December) at 11.00am at St. Mary’s Church, Swanlinbar, Co. Cavan, followed by burial in Killaduff Cemetery, Swanlinbar. Donations, if desired, to the Simon Community.

Mary Swift (née Fitzpatrick)

Mulhuddart, Dublin / Ballyhaise, Cavan

Mary Swift, nee Fitzpatrick, Mulhuddart, Dublin 15 and formerly 63 Church Street, Cootehill and Ballyhaise, Cavan, peacefully at Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her parents Patrick and Ellen, husband Gerry and son-in-law, Anto.

Sadly missed by her loving family, daughters Helen, Mena, Geraldine, Angela, Lizzy and son Michael, sons-in-law Sean, Patrick and Mark, also her 17 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, nephews John and Kevin and niece Laura, and her loving brother Pat.

Reposing at her home tomorrow Wednesday from 5.00pm until 8.00pm

Requiem Mass in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, Mulhuddart, on Thursday, 22nd December at 11am, followed by cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Dublin Road, Cavan at 2.00pm

Clare Duffy (née McCooey)

Killygola, Castleblayney, Monaghan

Clare Duffy, née McCooey, Killygola, Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan, Monday, 19th December 2022, in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Gerry, son Joseph and her parents Kathleen and Alex.

Deeply regretted and lovingly missed by her daughters Geraldine (Mallon), Catriona (McGlone), son Kieran, grandchildren, Isabel, Matthew, Caitlin, Keely and Cathal, sisters Lily and Christine, brothers Jim and Kevin, sons-in-law, Gerry and Mark, daughter-in-law, Maire, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Clare will repose privately among her family and friends in her daughter Geraldine’s home on Tuesday and Wednesday with removal on Wednesday evening at 6:30 pm arriving to St. Mary’s Church, Castleblayney for 7 pm. Requiem Mass on Thursday morning at 11 am with burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery where Clare will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband Gerry.

Stevie Hughes

Tiernahinch, Clones, Monaghan, H23 FK88

The death has occurred of Stevie Hughes, Tiernahinch, Clones, Co. Monaghan, Tuesday 20th December. Stevie passed away peacefully at the home of his daughter Carmel and son-in-law Francie Lynch, Lisseggerton, Clones, Stevie only 6 days short of his 105th birthday. surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his wife Phil.

Stevie will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his daughters Mary and Carmel, sons-in-law Tom and Francie, grandchildren Lisa, Helen, Niall, Damien, Eamon, Alice and Jack, his 12 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, his sister-in-law Olga Sherry, extended family, neighbours, friends and by all who knew and loved Stevie

May His Gentle Soul Rest In Peace.

Stevie will repose at his daughter Carmel and son-in-law Francie Lynch home Lisseggerton, Clones, H23FK88 this Tuesday and Wednesday evening from 4pm until 8pm with removal on Thursday morning at approx 10.40am to arrive at the Sacred Heart Chapel, Clones, for 11am requiem Mass. Burial afterwards in Mount St Oliver Cemetery, Clones.
