It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past 24 hours, as reported on RIP.ie

Oliver Brady

Dublin / Cavan

BRADY, Oliver – 17th December 2022 - Dublin and Lacken, Co. Cavan. Suddenly in Beamount. Hospital after a short illness, surrounded by his loving family. Pre- deceased by his parents Lizzie and Eddie and his brother Aidan. Much loved father to Kieran, Gavin and Sarah. Oliver will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his heartbroken sons, daughter, sister Ettie, brother in law John, his nephews and extended family and friends.

May Oliver Rest in Peace.

Reposing at Massey Bros, Funeral Home, Clondalkin Village D22 EOCO on Tuesday evening between 6pm and 8pm. Oliver will then be taken to his home in Lacken to repose on Wednesday evening between 6pm and 8pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at 11am. in St Michael's Church, Potahee, followed by burial in adjoining cemetery.

Sean Fitzpatrick

Billis, Cavan Town, Cavan / Tipperary Town, Tipperary

Sean Fitzpatrick, Billis, Cavan and formerly Tipperary Town, Sunday, December 18th 2022, peacefully, at Cavan General Hospital. Predeceased by his parents Michael and Josie and his brothers Paddy and Derry. Sadly missed by his loving family, Maureen, his sons Micheál (Julie), Shane (Stephanie), his daughters Roísín (Martin), Geraldine (Brendan) and Gráinne (Steve), his adored grandchildren Oisín, Fionn, Chulainn, Sadhbh, Lydia and Caoimhe, brothers Michael (Tipperary) and Rory (Clare), sister Ann (Cork), sister in law Mary, brother in law John, nephews, nieces, all the staff and his friends in Esker Lodge Nursing Home, all his extended family and many friends.

Reposing at the McMahon Funeral Home, Farnham Rd, Cavan, on Tuesday evening from 5pm until 7pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday morning at 10am in St. Clare's Chapel. Following Mass, the funeral cortege will travel to St. Michael's Cemetery, Tipperary Town, for committal prayers and burial at 2.30pm (approximately). Family flowers only please, donations, in lieu, to the Alzheimer's Society of Ireland, please.

Patsy Lynch

Lisanoran, Annaghdown, Galway / Ballyjamesduff, Cavan

Formerly of Ballyjamesduff, Co. Cavan. Peacefully, at U.H.Galway, surrounded by his loving family. Pre-deceased by his parents Patrick and Mary Teresa, sisters Teresa and Eileen, brothers Tony and John. Sadly missed by his loving wife Kitty, son Oliver (Mooncoin, Co Kilkenny), daughter-in-law Ginnette, his adored grandchildren Amy and Abbie, sisters Philis Wells (Texas), Margaret Smith (Shercock, Co Cavan), and Eithne Grogan (Dublin), brothers-in-law, Godchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

A walk through system for the reposing will take place at Corrandulla Mortuary Chapel (H91HN83) on Tuesday evening (20th December) from 6pm with removal at 8pm to St Brendan's Church, Annaghdown (H91YE39). Requiem Mass on Wednesday at 12 noon in St Brendan's Church, Annaghdown with burial afterwards in Annaghdown Cemetery. Mass will be live-streamed at www.churchtv.ie/annaghdown.

Rosaleen Masterson (née Murray)

Church Street, Killeshandra, Cavan

Rosaleen Masterson, nee Murray, Church Street, Killeshandra, County Cavan, 18th December 2022, peacefully, in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, Rosaleen, predeceased by her parents John and Roseann and her sister Susan. Very deeply regretted by her loving husband Austin, daughters Fiona and Noreen, brother John, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, neighbours, relatives and friends.

Reposing at her residence on Tuesday 20th December from 6pm to 9pm until Removal on Wednesday at 11.30am to St Brigid's Church, Killeshandra for funeral Mass at 12 noon, followed by burial in adjoining cemetery.

Rest in Peace.

Derek Murray

Coolock, Dublin / Cavan

Beloved son of the late Patsy. Sadly missed by his loving family, his wife Mary, children Nadine, Lyndsey, Darren, Dean, Philip and Aaron, his father Christy, sisters Jacqueline, Elaine, Mary, Michelle, Sinead and Emily, grandchildren, brothers in law, nieces and nephews relatives and friends.

Reposing at home in Coolock on Thursday from 3pm until 7pm. Removal on Friday to St. Joseph's Church, Coolock, arriving for Mass at 10am Funeral afterwards to Sutton Cemetery.

Dessie Reilly, Derrylurgan, Ballyjamesduff, Co Cavan. Died, unexpectedly at home, on the 19th December 2022. Predeceased by his mother and father, Bridie & Michael and his brother Vincy. Dearly loved brother of Marian, Michelle, Al and Paul. Sadly missed by all his nieces, nephews, brother in laws, extended family, neighbours and friends.

May Dessie Rest In Eternal Peace.

Eileen Corbett (née Griffiths)

12 Old Armagh Rd, Monaghan Town, Monaghan

Eileen passed away, peacefully, in the loving care of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda. Eileen was predeceased by her loving husband Robert (Bobby). She will be sadly missed by her children Dougie, Alyson and Keith, her son in law Cecil, daughter in law Ingrid, her loving grandchildren Barry, Laura, Zoe, Shannon and Hannah.

Eileen's funeral will take place at 11am on Wednesday, 21st December, in St Patrick's Church of Ireland, Church Square, Monaghan, with Burial afterwards in Coolshannagh Graveyard.

Clare Duffy, née McCooey, Killygola, Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan, Monday, 19th December 2022, in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Gerry, son Joseph and her parents Kathleen and Alex.
