A neat prize for Cavan photographer
A Cavan photographer has been recognised in a national competition celebrating forests.
Colm Cusack’s was awarded runner up in the 'Forests for Wood' category in the popular Teagasc Forest Photo Competition.
Colm's image 'Neat and Tidy' highlights active forest management in a young broadleaf woodland belonging to his father Thomas in County Cavan.
Colm was one of two category runners up, alongside Vicky Kelleher, and will each receive vouchers to the value of €100.
The 'Forests for Wood' was won by Brendan Cullen from Wicklow for his vibrant picture, titled 'Beyond the Trees', which was taken at the marvellous viewing tower in Avondale Forest Park in Wicklow. Brendan will receive a voucher worth €400 and is also entered into the Grand Final. The selected overall winner from each of the three category winners will be announced today, (Friday, December 16) and will receive a further voucher for €600.
