Man dies in workplace accident in Bailieboro

Gardaí and Health & Safety Authority investigate

Two separate investigations are underway into the death of a man in the Bailieboro area yesterday afternoon.

Gardaí have confirmed that they attended the scene of a fatal workplace accident at a business premises on the Kells Road, Bailieboro, yesterday afternoon, Thursday 3rd November.

A man aged in his 50s was pronounced deceased and his body was removed to Cavan Mortuary.

The Anglo Celt understands that the deceased man was a delivery driver attending a business premises.

Officers from the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) are also investigating.

In a statement this morning, they said: "The HSA are aware of this incident and have launched an investigation, as such no further information is available at this time."
