Three Cavan areas to elect ICMSA officers
Three ICMSA officers will be elected by the end of this week
Three areas of Cavan ICMSA will hold their AGMs this week and elect their officers for the coming year.
Ballyjamesduff area will meet this morning, Tuesday, November 1 at the Crover House Hotel in Mountnugent at 11am. The meeting will be addressed by Denis Drennan, deputy president and will be chaired by Brian O’Reilly of Virginia with Jimmy Sheridan of Mountnugent acting as secretary.
This evening, Mr Drennan will address the meeting and elections of Bailieborough area, which is being held at 8pm in the Bailie Hotel. That meeting will be chaired by Cavan ICMSA veteran, Lorcan McCabe, with Thomas Rogers acting as secretary to the meeting.
Killeshandra area will meet this Thursday, November 3, at the Cavan Crystal Hotel, at 8pm. That meeting to be addressed by John Enright, general secretary of ICMSA and chaired by Tom Fitzpatrick, Ballinagh, with Philip Smith of Crossdoney acting as secretary to the meeting.
The agendas for the meetings will include dairy and beef outlook, nitrates and climate change’s effects of farming, and CAP. Elections will be held for officers and members of the national council and a large turnout is expected. Refreshments to be served at the conclusion of meetings.
