Status yellow weather warning issued for Cavan
Met Éireann warn of possible flooding during the night
A status yellow rainfall warning has been put in place in Cavan between 11pm tonight and 8am tomorrow morning.
Met Éireann issued the warning stating that "heavy rainfall is likely to cause flooding."
The warning is also in place in Monaghan, Tipperary, Waterford and all of Leinster.
Rain will become confined to the north and east of the country later in the night. Lowest temperatures of 8 to 12 degrees in fresh to strong and gusty south to southeast winds, veering southwesterly later. Gales are expected for a time along eastern and southeastern coasts.
Tomorrow will start off wet and blustery in the north and east with heavy rain and some flooding. Drier and clearer weather in the south and west along with a few showers will extend to all areas during the morning. The remainder of the day will bring a mix of sunshine and scattered showers. Highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees in mostly moderate southwest winds, fresher in the southwest and west.
