Vigil in Multyfarnham to remember children who died in tragic incident on Friday

As the communities in Multyfarnham and the surrounding areas attempt to come to terms with the tragic deaths of two children on Friday, a vigil is being held in their memory this evening.

The vigil walk will start at the Children of Lir preschool and proceed to St Cremin’s NS, and it will allow families connected to the local national school to show support for family members affected by the tragedy.

Those attending are asked to park in the village or at the community centre, and to gather at Children of Lir (the old Multyfarnham NS) on the Coole road.

If people have battery operated candles, they are asked to bring them.

The vigil walk will conclude in at the St Cremin’s school yard, where Fr Conor Magee will lead those gathered in prayer as they remember the two children.

The vigil is to start at 8pm.
