Possible breakthrough in Kyte industrial dispute
Proposals will be subject to a ballot by SIPTU members
A “final set of proposals” have been agreed by both management at Kyte Powertech and workers represented by SIPTU which its hoped, if accepted, will bring an end to the current industrial dispute at the local manufacturing firm.
Kyte Powertech management and SIPTU representatives attended the Labour Court on Thursday last, September 1, for discussions in relation to the ongoing pay dispute.
Following that, a spokesperson for Kyte confirmed to The Anglo-Celt that a final set of proposals were “agreed by the parties” which both Kyte Powertech and SIPTU will now “recommend for acceptance”.
The proposals will be subject to a ballot by SIPTU members following a General meeting.
SIPTU meanwhile has confirmed to the company that all industrial action will be “suspended” pending the outcome of the balloting process.
The spokesperson for Kyte stated that the company would “not be making any further comment pending the outcome of the balloting process.”
