Work begins on new Virginia roundabout
'Traffic management system' in place to facilitate works.
Works have begun in Virginia on a new roundabout in the town centre.
The junction of the main N3 and the Ballyjamesduff road is to be replaced, with a roundabout.
It's hoped the move will help improve traffic flow through the busy town centre.
Cavan County Council has said "a traffic management system" has been put in place during the project to facilitate works.
The redesign is part of a larger project to improve safety and the general streetscape of Virginia town.
Work is already taking place on the replacement of footpaths and lighting. New bus stops are also set to be installed.
