Multi-vehicle crash on N3
Accident just north of the village of Butlerbridge, at the junction for Drumsilla.
Emergency services are at the scene of a multi-vehicle collision on the N3.
A stop-go system is currently in place for traffic at the scene of the accident just north of the village of Butlerbridge, at the junction for Drumsilla.
Emergency services including members of An Garda Siochana and the fire services attached to Cavan and Belturbet are currently attending the scene.
One casualty has been reported from the three vehicle collision which includes an overturned van.
The injuries sustained by the person are not believed to be life-threatening.
The Killeshandra junction, road L1511, at the turn off for Cavan Adventure Centre, is an area where numerous serious crashes have been reported in the past.
Local elected officials have lobbied the Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII), formerly the National Raods Authority, to install a turning lane at the junction.
The stop-go-system being operated will remain in place until further notice, with motorists warned to expect some delay.
Traffic though is reported to be moving steadily at present.
