Driver clocked at 143km/h on N3
A driver was caught travelling at 143km/h on the N3 by Gardaí carrying out speed checks yesterday.
The Cavan Roads Policing Unit was conducting speed and safety checks on the busy route yesterday morning, with eight drivers stopped for road offences. These included speeding and overtaking on continuous white lines.
Drivers were clocked at speeds of between 128km/h and 143km/h. That's almost 90mph.
Gardaí have urged drivers to slow down and take care on the country's roads.
The checks followed a similar operation on the N3 last week when a number of drivers were again caught travelling over the 100km/h speed limit.
