Visiting restrictions at Cavan General
A "surge" in Covid-19 cases has led to visiting restrictions at Cavan General Hospital.
A message issued by management at the facility today cited "the on-going surge in Covid-19 in the community and increased Covid-19 attendances and admissions to Cavan General Hospital" as the reason for the decision.
Visiting is available but on a restricted basis.
Critical and compassionate or exceptional circumstances visiting due to end of life care, at risk or vulnerable patients will be allowed by prior arrangement with the Clinical Nurse Manager of the ward.
Maternity visiting is not restricted for partners of in-patients.
One designated person will be allowed to attend the paediatric department with an admitted child.
Visitors will be required to complete a questionnaire on communicable infectious disease and Covid-19. This should be given to a staff member in the ward to be placed in the notes of the patient they are visiting.
Management is also asking that visitors only visit one patient during their designated visiting times.
If a patient requires assistance with contacting family or friends, contact the virtual visiting service in CGH on 087-1302464 for availability.
People are also being warned that the visiting guidelines may be subject to change at short notice.
