Upgrade to water plant granted

Permission has been granted to Crossdoney Co-Operative and Agricultural Society Limited on plans to upgrade the existing Crossdoney Water Treatment Plant.

The proposed development within the existing water treatment plant site will consist of the construction of a new water clarification process tank, a below ground pumping chamber, modifications to below-ground pipework, and associated ancillary site works.

A Natura Impact Statement was submitted to the planning authority, and a total of nine conditions were attached in respect of permission for the development at Gartbrattan.

Separately, Glaslough Tyholland Group Water Scheme have applied for permission to construct a new general purpose store adjacent to the existing water treatment plant in the townland of Derrygasson Lower, Emyvale.
