Over 170 Ukrainian students attending Cavan schools
Over 7,000 are enrolled in Irish schools.
New figures show 173 Ukrainian children and teenagers are enrolled in schools in Cavan.
The Department of Education data, which was released today, shows 7,285 students from the country are enrolled in schools across Ireland.
Of the young people in Cavan, 120 are attending primary schools, while 53 are in secondary education.
The accommodation of Ukrainian students in local schools was highlighted as a potential challenge by CMETB but schools across the region were praised for their response.

The number of students in Cavan has only increased slightly over recent months.
The number of students enrolled in neighbouring counties varies widely. Monaghan is listed as accommodating just 23 students - the lowest in the country.
Meath has 202 Ukrainian students, Westmeath has 112, Longford is listed as having 42 students and Leitrim has 148.
Hotels, B&Bs, holiday homes and other accommodation are being used as part of the country’s emergency response to the refugee crisis prompted by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The availability of such accommodation in certain parts of the country led to the higher number of Ukrainians being housed in those areas.
As of mid-June, the number of Ukrainian people to arrive in Cavan had reached 680.
The Department's figures relate to the number of students enrolled on June 30.
