Cavan teen to represent Ireland at world darts championship
David 'The Flintstone' Flynn will travel to Gibraltar this November.
A Cavan student is set to represent Ireland at this year's upcoming Junior Darts Corporation (JDC) World Championships.
The JDC World Championships take place in Gibraltar this November.
David is pupil at St Patrick's College, Cavan Town and trains at the Athlone Youth Darts Academy.
He is one of three player at the AYDA to qualify for the junior championships.
David will represent Ireland in the team event on the first day, and join his fellow academy teammates Aaron Killane and James Morris in representing the Irish JDC team in the other three scheduled events.
Back in May, David whose player nickname is 'The Flintstone', was man of the match for Westmeath Youth Darts Team at their tournament in March, played at Ballinasloe's Shearwater Hotel.
He beat Colal Divilly 4-1 in the final of the Westcoast Challenge Youth Singles throwing for Westmeath in the team event, and carried that form through the competition to bring home the silverware.
The upcoming tournament, which pits the very best young dart throwing talents against each other, will be staged over four days of play starting with the World Team Event on Tuesday, November 22.
