Elderly man airlifted after Cavan Town accident
Coast Guard's Rescue 116 flew man to Beaumont Hospital for treatment.
A man in his 90s remains in a serious condition after he was injured in what has been described as "a work place accident" .
Ambulance paramedics were joined by gardaí and personnel from the Cavan County Fire Service at Swellan Lower, Cavan Town at approximately 1pm yesterday afternoon (Wednesday, May 25).
The Fire Service assisted paramedics in helping extricate the victim before the Irish Coast Guard's Rescue 116 flew the man to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin for treatment.
A garda spokesperson confirmed: "He remains in a serious condition and investigations ongoing. The HSA have been notified of the incident and will conduct an investigation of their own."
