WCC to seek planning for 63 social housing units in Mullingar and 'Pollard
Westmeath County Council has released plans to construct 63 social houses over five sites in Mullingar and Castlepollard.
In Mullingar, the council plans to build 22 social houses on a site on the Green Road adjacent to the Ashfield/Abbeylands estates and St Bridget's Terrace, which will consist of 21 one-bedroom units and one six bed unit.
The council also plans to construct 17 dwellings on the Delvin Road on a plot adjoining D'Alton Park. The proposed development will consist of nine two-bed apartments and eight one bed apartments in three two storey blocks.
Planning permission is also being sought for 15 single storey, two and one bed dwellings over four sites at Ennell Court and Trinity Cottages.
In Castlepollard, the council is to seek planning permission for eight two bed single storey dwellings at Water Street. In a separate application, the council is seeking permission to build a three bed single storey dwelling at Water Street.
Under the part 8 planning process relating to local authorities, Westmeath's county councillors will have the final say on whether the five projects get the go-ahead.
The plans for all five proposed developments can be inspected at Aras An Chontae in Mullingar until June 22 and the deadline for submissions is July 5.
