Launch of children’s adventure book
The novelist behind a fabulous new adventure book for children will be interviewed on stage in a special event in Cavan Townhall next week.
Claire Mulligan’s debut novel 'The Hunt for David Berman' is set to delight children and parents alike with its thrilling plot and exquisite prose.
Billed as “one of the most exciting children’s books of the year” it is set in Scotland during World War II. It charts the friendship of Robert - an evacuee from London - and David, a Kindertransport child who has run away from his cruel foster family to hide in the caves.
Meanwhile, at the Gestapo HQ in Berlin, it is discovered that an Enigma codebook has been hidden in David’s suitcase. A Nazi secret agent is instructed to hunt down David, retrieve the codebook and kill the boy.
Claire Mulligan will be in conversation with The Moth's Will Govan for the launch of 'The Hunt for David Berman' at the Townhall Cavan on Wednesday, May 11 at 7pm. This will be followed by a reading, Q&A and signing.
The eagerly anticipated event is suitable for children aged seven years and up, and is free of charge.
See next week's Celt newspaper for an interview with Claire Mulligan.
