Local barrister appointed as Circuit Court Judge
The news was announced after this week's Cabinet meeting.
Local barrister Kenneth Connolly has been appointed a Judge on the Circuit Court.
The Castleblayney native is well known in local Circuit Court sittings, being a familiar site in both Cavan and Monaghan.
Called to the bar in 1994, he worked as a Junior Counsel across the Northern Circuit, covering Cavan, Monaghan, Leitrim and Donegal and in Dublin.
Cabinet yesterday agreed a number of appointments to Courts across the country.
Connolly, who was called to the bar in 1994, takes up his post as an Ordinary Judge of the Circuit Court following the appointment of the Hon. Mr. Justice Rory MacCabe to the High Court earlier this year.
The Government also agreed to nominate solicitors Andrew Cody, Michéle Finan and Conor Fottrell as Ordinary Judges of the District Court.
