Helping brides achieve a unique style

Traditional with a twist is the most sought after style by brides at Amsha Bridal.

A finalist at the recent Weddings Online Awards, Michelle Cullivan is the ‘go to’ expert for what’s on trend for brides.

“Because many of the brides have had to postpone their weddings, and have been faced with lockdowns for the past two years – a lot of them are going all out,” says Michelle, based at Coolnagor on the Crossdoney Road. “They are going for the ball gowns – the more traditional wedding dress.

“You can wear a fitted dress any day, but you can’t wear a ball gown any day. They are also going for the more traditional lace and satin, all ivory.”

While traditional styles are very much in vogue, Michelle’s discerning customers also desire a personalised touch.

“Many people are looking for something a little bit different too, so this season I’ve ordered in dresses with puffed sleeves, or one shoulder strap - just a few little different touches, which distinguish them from the norm, because brides like to be individuals.”

Personalising dresses is an Amsha Bridal speciality.

“Your dress is a blank canvas, we can change it: We can add sleeves, add belts any number of details to make them truly yours.”

She notes that, while many are opting out of a traditional church wedding, that shouldn’t mean the dress goes out as well.

“A lot of weddings are now held in hotels, with civil ceremonies. Some brides think I don’t need a wedding dress for that. Personally, I think your wedding day is your wedding day whether it’s in a church or hotel.”

It’s not just brides who are coming to Amsha Bridal either, guests too are making the most of the post-Covid freedom and are seeking long dresses.

That Amsha Bridal was selected as a finalist in the Bridal Wear Supplier of the Year category at the Weddings Online Awards in Mullingar Park Hotel speaks volumes of Michelle’s devotion to her customers.

“To get to the final was great. It was a huge black tie affair. We had a brilliant night and it was great to mingle and network and meet people in the industry.”
