Funeral arrangements confirmed for Richard Merriman
The funeral arrangements for the young Fore man who died in a road traffic accident at the weekend have been confirmed.
Richard Merriman, 36, was killed in a single-vehicle collision in Virginia in the early hours of Saturday morning. He was the sole occupant of the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.
He will repose at his family residence at Ankerland, Fore, tomorrow, Wednesday from 4pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. His funeral mass will take place in St Feichin's Church, Fore at noon on Thursday with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
When news of Richard's untimely passing emerged at the weekend, tributes started pouring in online.
One poster sympathised with Richard's family saying that he was “a wonderful kind person and will be such a loss to you all and his friends”.
Another online post, described Richard as “genuine, loyal, honest” and someone who would be sorely missed.
A former colleague of Richard's posted: “I had the pleasure of working with Richie for a few years and have to say he was a brilliant hard working electrician and good guy to be around, I am so sorry for your loss.”
Richard will be sadly missed by his fiancée Jane Keogh, his parents Michael and Maria, brother Robert, sisters Lisa and Roseanna, the Keogh family, nephew, nieces, cousins, uncles, aunts, relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.
