It is with regret that we note the following deaths in our community over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie
Thomas (Tommy) Drury
The death has occurred of Thomas (Tommy) Drury, Knocknashammer, Mountainlodge, Cootehill, Co. Cavan, Friday, April 8, 2022, peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Dearly loved husband of Esther and dear father of Heather, Daphne, Gwen, Hilda, Elaine and Alastair. Lovingly remembered by his wife, daughters, son, sons in law, Robbie, Leslie, Richard and Keith, grandchildren, sister Nora, brother in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Resting at the family home this evening, Sunday, from 4pm until 8pm. House strictly private at all other times, please (walk through only, wear masks and no hand shakes please).
Funeral leaving the family home on Monday at 1.15pm, arriving at Knockbride Parish Church for funeral service at 2pm, followed by burial in adjoining Churchyard. Family flowers only, please. Donations in lieu, if so desired, to Coronary Care Unit, Cavan General Hospital c/o William Foster Funeral Director, Ricehill, Crosssdoney, Cavan or any family member.
Richard Merriman
The death has occurred of Richard Merriman of Ankerland, Fore, Castlepollard, Co. Westmeath residing in Knocktemple, Munterconnaught, Cavan tragically passed on April 9th 2022 aged 36. Sadly missed by his Fiancée Jane Keogh, his parents Michael and Maria, brother Robert, sisters Lisa and Roseanna, the Keogh family, nephew, nieces, cousins, uncles, aunts, relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Anthony McVeigh Snr
The death has occurred of Anthony McVeigh Snr, Cormoy, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan peacefully in his 85th year in the tender loving care of St. Mary’s Nursing Home, Castleblayney, Saturday, April 9, 2022. Predeceased by his loving wife Bridget, his parents James and Mary-Jane, sisters Maureen, Dympna and Ettie, brothers Leo, Fran, Alf, Gerry and Brendan. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving family, daughter Caroline, sons Mark (Alison) and Leonard, grandchildren Ashleigh, Patrick, Lucy, Conor and Grace, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
Reposing at his residence on Sunday afternoon from 2pm until 8pm. Removal on Monday afternoon to St. Mary’s Church, Lisdoonan arriving for Requiem Mass at 2pm. Burial afterwards in the New Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations, if desired, to the Patient Comfort Fund, Lorgan House via the donations box
