County wakes up to snow covered hills

Highest temperatures will range between 5 and 10 degrees

Icy stretches and some snowfall this morning may lead to hazardous conditions while rain this morning will possibly fall as sleet or snow in parts for a time.

This is before Met Eireann is forecast clearing to scattered showers with some bright spells.

Some rain and drizzle will return later this evening.

"Cold through much of the day with highest temperatures reaching 5 to 7 degrees later this afternoon. Moderate to fresh westerly winds."

A wet night with widespread outbreaks of rain, turning heavy with localised flooding is possible.

"Cold initially with lows of 1 to 5 degrees, however temperatures will rise overnight to between 7 and 10 degrees."
