It is with regret that we note the following deaths in our community over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie
Bridie Fitzsimons (née Hynes)
Woodford Park, Ballyconnell, Cavan
February 17th 2022 peacefully at Cavan General Hospital.
Wife of the late Jimmy. Deeply regretted by her loving family Pat, Mary, Bridie, Connie, Jim & Shane, sister(Maggie), sons-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives & friends.
Rest in peace.
Reposing at her residence this Friday evening from 5 o'clock until 9 o'clock. Walk through only. House private at all other times please.
Removal on Saturday morning arriving at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Ballyconnell for funeral Mass at 12 o'clock. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu if desired to Irish heart foundation c/o Brian Fee undertaker.

Martin Sexton
Knockateggart, Clifferna, Stradone, Cavan
The death has occurred of Martin Sexton, Knockateggart, Clifferna, Stradone, Co. Cavan. Died 16th February 2022, peacefully, at Cavan General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents and sister Breege (Oates). Deeply regretted and remembered by his loving wife Peggy. Sadly missed by his son Patrick, his daughter Jillian, his much loved sisters Roisin, Maura and his brother Seamus. Sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends and neighbours.
Rest In Peace.
Funeral Mass will take place this Friday morning in St. Michael's Church Clifferna, at 12 noon, followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Please adhere to Covid guidelines.

Michael Swords
Tullycoe House, Moynehall, Cavan Town, Cavan
Michael Swords, Ex Teagasc, Tullycoe House, Moynehall, Cavan and formerly Raharney, Co. Westmeath. Wednesday February 16th 2022 peacefully in the loving care of his Family and the staff at Cavan General Hospital. Beloved brother of the late Arthur and Betty. Much loved Husband of Bernadette, devoted and loving Father of Paul, Aiden, Shauna, Clara, Petrie, and Louise. Michael will be very sadly missed by his loving wife and Family, sons in law Keith, David and Arnaud, his adored grandchildren Carl, Bella, Lucy, Noah and Pierre, brothers Sean and Brendan, sisters in law Sr. Marie, Nancy, Kitty and Margaret, nephews, nieces, all his extended family, former colleagues and many friends.

Reposing at the McMahon Funeral Home, Farnham Road, Cavan on Friday evening from 6pm until 8pm. Michael’s Funeral will arrive to the Cathedral of Ss Patrick & Felim, Cavan on Saturday for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Following Mass the cortege will travel via the House in Tullycoe and on the By-Pass to St Brigid’s cemetery, Killygarry for committal prayers and burial. As we still have Covid with us, you are asked to wear Face Masks and no hand shakes please.

Marian Garland (née McKitterick)
Drumganny, Inniskeen, Monaghan
The death has occurred of Marian Garland (nee McKitterick), peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Owen, much loved mother of Sineád (McKevitt), Paul, Eoin and Padraig. Sadly missed by Sineád’s husband Shaun, Eoin’s wife Michelle and Padraig’s girlfriend Niamh. Cherished sister of Catherine, Thomas, Patrick, and the late Andrew and Gerard. Deeply regretted by grandchildren Lauren, Kate and Seán Óg, brother- in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Reposing at her residence from Friday 12pm to 8pm at Drumganny, Inniskeen, until removal Saturday morning at 10.15am to the Church of Mary Mother of Mercy, Inniskeen, arriving for 11 am Requiem Mass. Burial afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Inniskeen.
