Warning for Cavan ahead of Storm Dudley

High winds and some flooding are expected.

Met Éireann has issued weather warnings ahead of Storm Dudley, which is expected to hit Ireland tomorrow.

Winds of up to 130km/h are expected on exposed coasts and higher ground. Coastal counties are also being urged to expect flooding due to the combination of high tides and strong winds.

A yellow warning for wind has been issued for Cavan, with most of the country falling under the same warning.

Met Éireann says winds of 50 – 65km/h can be expected locally, with damaging gusts of 80 – 110km/h possible in some parts.

The warning is in place from 12 noon tomorrow (Wednesday) until 12 noon on Thursday.

Donegal is under an orange warning for wind from 9pm on Wednesday to 9am on Thursday morning.

Warnings have also been issued in Northern Ireland by the UK Met Office.
