It is with regret that we note the following deaths in our community over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

Claire Rita Fitzpatrick (née Young)

Loch Gowna, Cavan

Claire Rita Fitzpatrick (nee Young) San Francisco (USA) and Loch Gowna. Passed peacefully from this world on February 9th, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband William in Ireland in 1980. Sadly missed by her adoring family; Peggy O'Donnell (Dennis), Kathleen Reilly (Eamon), Bill Fitzpatrick (Petra), Helen Dolan (Frank), John Fitzpatrick (Margaret), Timmy Fitzpatrick (Deirdre), Joan Fitzpatrick (Paul), adoring grandmother of 24 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren with two more on the way. Sadly missed by her devoted sister-in-law Molly and her many nieces and nephews in both California and Ireland.

Annamay Gillett (née Tighe)

Ryefield, Virginia, Cavan

The death has occurred of Annamay Gillett (nee Tighe), Ryefield, Virginia, Co. Cavan , peacefully at St. Joseph's Private Nursing Home, Virginia on the 11 February, 2022. Deeply regretted by her devoted husband Les, her loving son Paul and her loving daughter Caroline (Quinn), her son in law Martin and her cherished grandchildren, Aaron, Shane and Ryan, her sisters and brothers, sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Matthews Funeral Home, Virginia on Sunday evening from 5 o'clock until prayers at 8 o'clock. Walk through only. Removal on Monday from Matthews Funeral Home via the family home in Ryefield, to arrive at St. Mary's Church, Castlerahan for 12 o'clock Funeral Mass. Burial afterwards in St. Bartholemew's Cemetery, Munterconnaught.

Philomena Ward (née Greenan)

Annagap, Castleshane, Monaghan, H18 E768

The death has occurred of Philomena Ward, (nee Greenan), Annagap, Castleshane, Co. Monaghan, Friday, February 11th, peacefully at the Mater Private Dublin, surrounded by her loving family. Philomena, deeply regretted and remembered with love by her family, husband James, daughter Gráinne (Sherlock), sons Dermot, Eamon and Kevin, son in law Hugh, daughters in law Sinéad and Ashling, sisters Florence Kelly and Rita Mc Nally, brothers Jim, Joe, Peadar and Gerard, brother in law Vincie, sisters in law Mairéad, Maura, Kitty and Catherine, her ten cherished grandchildren, Conor, Odhrán, Mary, Molly, Cormac, Orlaith, Dylan, Alanna, Daithí and Danny, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and many goodfriends.

Philomena will repose at her home from 2pm until 8pm today, Saturday, and again tomorrow, Sunday, from 2pm until 8pm, with removal on Monday morning at 10.15am to arrive at St. Macartan’s Cathedral for funeral Mass at 11am, followed by burial in St. Joseph’s Old Cemetery, Latlurcan.
