Investigation after latest cable theft

The region has been hit by a number of thefts in recent months.

Gardaí have launched another investigation after the latest phone cable theft.

Two further incidents were reported this week, with thefts reported in the Annamarran and Leege areas of Carrickmacross in the early hours of Thursday morning (February 10).

Gardaí already have a number of investigations underway after a spate of incidents across Cavan, Monaghan, Meath and Louth in recent months.

Anyone with information on the latest theft is asked to contact Gardaí in Carrickmacross on 042 9690190.

Eir has hit out at at those behind the thefts, with thousands of customers impacted.
