Call for signage at Rann Point
A Cavan councillor is urging the local authority to install more signage directing visitors to the picturesque lakeside amenity site known as Rann Point.
Fine Gael’s Madeleine Argue recalled her own lengthy detour to the beauty spot after realising she’d missed the turn off.
Extolling the virtues of the site, especially popular with visitors during the pandemic, Cllr Argue said: “There are very few signposts.”
She added: “It’s okay for people who know the area well. But I ended up in Killeshandra. A 10-minute drive turned into a 40-minute drive. I met with others out there who said the same.”
Speaking at a meeting of Cavan-Belturbet Municipal District, she said of Rann Point: “It’s a wonderful facility.”
The council’s executive said they would examine the matter.
