Temperatures set to drop

It looks like scattered showers will be that order of the day today with cool temperatures threatening sleet or snow in high ground later.

Light and patchy rain and drizzle this morning will become more persistent and widespread later as a moderate southwest wind becomes fresh to strong. A clearance to scattered showers will follow in the evening as winds veer west to northwest and increase to reach near gale force in coastal areas. Highest temperatures of 7 to 9 degrees.

Clear spells and scattered showers of rain or sleet with a chance of some snow over the mountains tonight. Lowest temperatures of 3 or 4 degrees with fresh to strong and gusty northwest winds slowly easing by morning.

Largely dry with some bright spells to start on Monday, it will turn cloudier by afternoon with patchy light rain and drizzle developing. Highest afternoon temperatures of 7 to 9 degrees in moderate to fresh northwest to west winds, backing westerly and freshening later.
