Book of condolence opened for Ashling Murphy
Her funeral is to take place tomorrow.
A book of condolence for Aishling Murphy has been opened for people in County Cavan.
The County Council has announced the opening of the online book of condolence, with Cathaoirleach Clifford Kelly passing on his thoughts to her friends and family.
"I was shocked and appalled by the brutal murder of Ashling Murphy in Tullamore.
"One violent death is too many, but sadly, assaults on women are all too common in this country. Women and girls deserve to be safe at all times, whether they are out for a run during the day, on a night out with friends, or in their homes. The onus is on all of us as a society to stamp out the violent, misogynistic behaviour that has sadly claimed Ashling Murphy’s life. On behalf of the people of Cavan, I send my deepest sympathies to Ashling’s parents, siblings, boyfriend and many friends."
The book of condolence is available HERE. It will remain open until January 31.
