Tullyvin host Christmas market
There is nothing better to get you into the festive mood than a Christmas Market. This Sunday, December 12, Tullyvin Community Hall is the venue for a festive treat that will set the tone for Christmas.
One of the organisers, Angela Flanagan, told the Celt about what's on offer. “It will be a real Christmas event. There will be 22 stalls taking part. As well as the stalls selling festive goodies, treats and those last-minute gifts, we will also have refreshments and home-baked goods available on the day. There is great excitement about the raffle for hampers. The interest in the auction for a maiden Friesien heifer and the trailer load of sticks is very high,” she told.
Angela is excited at the prospect: “We are hoping to get a good crowd, but one that can be managed to comply with al the health regulations. We want to let everyone know that this is a safe, family event.”
The community group will donate all profits earned from the event to the Cootehill Cancer Care, a local charity whose volunteers help so many families and patients on their difficult journey.
“Cootehill Cancer Care have been so good to so many people in the area. All charities have been hit with funding because of restrictions in the last couple of years, they have had very little money coming in. They are so dependant on voluntary donations.
“My mother passed away four years ago. That is why I love to arrange these charity drives. I have done a mini marathon one year, a coffee morning another, I try to do something different every year. This year's Christmas Market is the latest drive and it's just sometime a bit different. We hope we will be able to give Cootehill Cancer Care a good boost,” Angela says.
“We hope people will come along, support a great cause and join in the festive cheer!” Angela concluded.
Tullyvin Christmas Market takes place on Sunday, December 12, from 2-6pm in Tullyvin Community Centre in aid of Cootehill Cancer Care.
