Gardaí discovered the growhouse on Sunday.
A man’s been remanded in custody after the discovery of over €97,000 worth of cannabis at a premises outside Cavan town on Monday.
Lukas Kvietkus (23) of Drumcalpin, Cavan was arrested at the scene by Gardaí following the discovery of the cannabis growhouse.
He was questioned by Gardaí and charged, before appearing in Monaghan District Court yesterday.
He was remanded in custody to Castlerea Prison.
He appeared in Cavan District Court today via videolink, charged under section 17 of the misuse of drugs act.
Judge Alan Mitchell heard efforts were being made to secure an address for Mr Kvietkus, as well as money to be put forward as a bond in an application for bail.
His solicitor, Bríd Mimnagh said while it is up to the Court to decide if he will get bail, efforts were underway to secure what was necessary for an application.
Sergeant Damien Martin said Gardaí would be objecting to bail in the event of an application.
Judge Mitchell said time would be needed to allow Gardaí to confirm the address and the source of any money put forward.
“Who is the source of such funds and is it ok for the state?”, he said.
He remanded Mr Kvietkus in custody to appear again before the Court on December 9.
120 cannabis plants were discovered at the premises in Drumcalpin, along with heaters, lights and extractor fans.
The work was part of Garda Operation Tara, which targets the street dealing of drugs in towns and cities.
