Quad stolen near Newbliss

Gardaí in Monaghan are appealing for information in relation to the theft of a quad near Newbliss at the weekend.

The Honda 450 quad (2004 model) was taken from a property in the Ballynure area between Sunday and Monday, November 14-15.

It’s the latest in a sting of similar thefts in the region over the past 24 months.

In February of this year a red Honda 500 quad (2018) was taken from a yard in Lackafin, not far from Castleblayney, and last year a red Yamaha Grizzly 350 quad was reported stolen from a locked shed in the Kilmore area near Crossdoney. Another was stolen from a shed in the townland of Tullaghan, Ballinode.

Last Thursday meanwhile, November 11, members of Monaghan Community Engagement were on routine patrol around in the Monaghan Town when they discovered a 152 MN **** Citreon Berlingo that had been stolen earlier in the week from the Tesco carpark.

“Did you happen to see it around the town during this period. If you can assist please contact Monaghan Garda Station on 047- 77240,” gardaí posted on social media.
