Townhall Cavan launches Autumn-Winter Programme
Live entertainment is returning to Townhall Cavan this month, and a wonderfully diverse programme of events has been unveiled for the recently refurbished arts space.
With Virginia’s Ramor Theatre currently closed for renovations, the long-awaited return of theatre and music to the iconic Cavan Town venue has come at the perfect time.
Among the highlights of the 2021 autumn-winter programme are ‘An Evening with Jack Lukeman’ on 30th October, Livin’ Dred’s production of Gina Moxley’s shamelessly funny ‘Danti Dan’, directed by Aaron Monaghan from 2nd-4th November, Cavan One-Act Drama Festival from 5th-7th November, Mick Flannery and Susan O’Neill on 12th November, ‘Song Lake’ by Larry Beau on 23rd October, and the internationally-acclaimed Decadent Theatre with ‘Eden’ by Eugene O’Brien on 19th-20th November.
Younger audiences will also be treated to a special all-ages show ‘A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings’ by Gabriel Garcia Marquez’, described as “fifty minutes of near theatrical perfection” on 10th and 11th November.
Theatre manager Padraic McIntyre says, “There really is something for everyone in this programme. I know audiences near and far are chomping at the bit to get back to live arts, and we in the Town Hall cannot wait to welcome you back. I know all of our performers are just as excited as we are, so you can be sure of an extra special experience at Townhall Cavan this autumn-winter”.
