Local schools receive Green Flags
526 schools across the country got their Green Flags this week.
Twelve Cavan schools have been awarded Green Flags this week, with two first time awardees.
The programme, which is run by An Taisce, rewards schools for their dedication to sustainability and protecting their environment.
Pupils take part in a number of activities and sessions during the school year to raise awareness of environmental issues and what they can do play their part.
526 schools across the country have been awarded flags.
Green-Schools Manager Cathy Baxter congratulated them.
“We know that you have all been working incredibly hard in your schools over the last year and you continued to find innovative ways to keep the programme going during school closures and social distancing.
