North Longford Post Office to close this month

Business will be transfered to Loch Gowna.

A north Longford Post Office is to close this month after no new operator could be found.

An Post has confirmed the branch in Aughnacliffe will close on September 24th.

In a statement it says it had advertised the contract to operate the Post Office “on a number of occasions and sought to identify an alternative contractor”.

However it says these attempts were “to no avail”.

An Post has apologised to its customers in the area but says it’s been left with no option but to close the branch.

All accounts and business will be transferred to Loch Gowna Post Office from September 24th.

It says “every effort” will be made to ease the transition for customers.
