Anne (Nan) COONEY (née Olwill)

Terenure, Dublin / Cavan

COONEY (née Olwill), Anne (Nan) (Terenure, Dublin) formerly of Co. Cavan, 3rd Sept 2021 following a short illness. Beloved wife of the late James Cooney, she will be sadly missed by her son Martin, daughter Sharon, her grandchildren Colm, Milo, David, Donal, Blinne and John, daughter-in-law Rita, son-in-law Liam, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Bernadette (Dettie) Mulligan (née Hetherton)

Beherna, Virginia, Cavan

The death has occurred of Bernadette “Dettie” Mulligan nee Hetherton of Arlington Texas and formerly of Beherna Virginia. Predeceased by her Husband Richard, Parents Patrick and Brigid and brother Desmond. She was peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Cavan General Hospital after a sudden illness on Friday the 3rd September.

Deeply regretted by her son's Ruairi, and John Paul, daughter's Roisin and Emily, brothers Paddy and Gerry, sister Irene, son in law Charles, daughter in law Holly, sister in laws Suzanne, Bridie and Mary, nieces nephews and all her cherished grandchildren, Pearse, Liam, Aoife, Brendan, Hannah, Braden, Richey and Judd. They will greatly miss their Granny Bernie.

Reposing at O’Dwyer Funeral Home, Ryefield, Virginia from 6pm to 8pm this Sunday evening . Funeral mass in St.Bartholomew's Church, Munterconnaught on Monday at 12 noon with burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery. The funeral mass will be held in compliance with Current Covid 19 guidelines. People are invited to form a guard of honour along the route of the funeral cortege as a mark of respect. Lakeland, Tunnyduff, Bailieborough, Cavan

P.J. Shannon, Lakeland, Tunnyduff, Bailieborough, Co.Cavan. Died 3rd September 2021, peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents Frank and Mary Alice and his brother Francie. Survived by his heartbroken wife Catherine, sons Kieran and Neil, daughters Collette and Deirdre. His beloved grandchildren Pierce, Ronan, Bevin, Tristan, Kiera, Oisin, Cadain, Clionadh, Rian and Caomhan. Sadly missed by his brother Andy, Sisters Maire, Cathy and Mary Alice, sons in law Mano and Paul and daughters in law Louise and Kerrie.

The death has occurred of Bridget (Bridie) Connolly (née Maguire). St. Macartans Villas, Carrickmacross & formerly Coolskeagh, Dundalk Road, Castleblayney. 4th September 2021. Peacefully, in the tender care of the staff of Newgrange 2, Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, surrounded by her beloved family. Predeceased by her husband John, her sisters Lily & Dora & her brother Oliver. Dearly missed and remembered with love by her family, her daughters Angela (Flanagan), Laura (Oakhill, Louth Village) & Teresa (Ward, Oram), her sons Larry (Lough Egish) & Paddy (Latton), sons-in-law Brian & Paul, daughter-in-law Ann, her adored grandchildren, Orla, Cera, Caroline, Oisín, Lochlann, Emmet, Anna-Maria, Declan, Darren, Damien, Donna, Colin & Stefan, her twelve great-grandchildren and her great-great-granddaughter, her sister Margaret (Quinn, Faughart) & Philomena (Loughman, Doohamlet), her brothers Eamon (Bettystown) & John (Castleblayney), sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives & friends.

Bridget's Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph's Church, Carrickmacross on Monday, 6th September, at 11am followed by burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Castleblayney. There will be an opportunity for the community to pay their respects by lining the route, in a socially distanced manner, as Bridget's funeral cortège leaves her daughter Angela & son-in-law Brian's home, Creevyswinburne, on Monday at 10:20am via Cloughvalley, on foot via Farney Street, pausing at St. Macartan's Villas, proceeding to St. Joseph's Church.

Donations, if desired, to St. John of God's, Oakhill, Louth Village, via donation box or c/o Lonergan Funeral Directors.

Ann Gray

Stracleven, Knockatallon, Monaghan

Peacefully in the loving care of her family and the Nursing Staff in Cavan General Hospital, in her 70th year. Predeceased by her parents Bridget and Peter, brother John and sisters Angela and Bridie. Sadly missed and remembered with love by her sister's Maura, Nell, Bernadette, Margaret, Julie, Patricia, brothers Peter, Jim Joe and Frank, nephew Enda and all her nephews and nieces.

May Ann's gentle soul rest in eternal peace.

Reposing at her home from 8.30pm this evening Saturday until removal on Monday morning at 10.15am to arrive at St Joseph's Chapel, Knockatallon for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial immediately afterwards in St Mary's Cemetery, Urbleshanney. Due to current restrictions Funeral Mass will be restricted to family, friends and neighbours. Anyone wishing to pay their respects can do so as the funeral cortege travels from her home to the chapel or from the chapel to St Mary's Cemetery, Urbleshanney (via Knockatallon Cross) adhering to social distancing guidelines at all times. House private to family, friends and neighbours.
