Do Not Consume notice lifted on local scheme
The Do Not Consume notice on the Billis-Lavey Group Water Scheme has been lifted.
The notice was put in place last month with people urged not to consume their water under any circumstances.
It was one of a number of such notices put in place in the region over the past few weeks.
Cavan County Council today told The Anglo-Celt that after consultation with the HSE the notice was being lifted with immediate effect.
It says the water is now safe for use and can be used for drinking and food preparation.
However, it says if water systems have not been in use for the duration of the notice, consumers should ensure that they flush out their systems by running their hot and cold taps for a period of at least thirty minutes before resuming normal use of the water supply.
It says anyone with questions or who needs further information should contact the Billis-Lavey GWS on 087 3274178.
