Evening throw-in confirmed for All-Ireland final

It looks to be another late one for Mayo supporters, with a throw-in time of 5 p.m. confirmed for the All-Ireland Senior Football Final.

Mayo booked their place in the final last weekend with a thrilling extra-time win over reigning champions Dublin. They will meet either Kerry or Tyrone in the decider, with that semi-final now scheduled for August 28.

It also appears that a number of flashpoints from Mayo win's over Dublin look set to be investigated, according to the Irish Independent, with Dublin's John Small and James McCarthy potentially in the firing line.

Small’s challenge on Eoghan McLaughlin, that resulted in jaw surgery for the Westport player on Sunday, could come under scrutiny by the GAA’s Central Competition Controls Committee (CCCC), while McCarthy was captured on camera swinging back and catching Diarmuid O’Connor just as Lane was calling time at the end of normal time.

However, Mayo captain Aidan O'Shea looks set to avoid a suspension for his pitch incursion at the end of normal time, clearing the way for his participation in next month’s final with Kerry or Tyrone.

The Breaffy man became involved in an altercation with Dublin substitute Philly McMahon, and others, raising the possibility that it was an unauthorised incursion.

However, it’s clear from replays that O’Shea entered the field after referee Conor Lane had blown for full-time. In that scenario, an incursion by a substituted player would not be considered unauthorised.
