Campsite plan for Virginia
Cavan County Council is in the process of considering a planning application for a tourism development in Virginia.
Applicant Maria Graham is seeking permission for the construction of a tourist campsite at Lurgan Glebe, Oldcastle Road, Virginia, Co Cavan. The plans provide for vehicular access from existing public road, a parking area for cars and camper vans, and pathways leading to tent, yurt and log cabins in the grassed camping area.
The application includes submissions for a single-storey, check-in cabin building, a single-storey winter storage building for yurts and tents and a single-storey building incorporating toilets, showers and laundry facilities.
Other features of the campsite are stables, a sand area, an all-weather pitch and playground area. The application also covers services and all ancillary works. A decision is due by the end of September.
