'Do Not Consume Notice' on Billis/Lavey GWS
An alternative supply is being provided from tankers at Lisgrey House and the Lavey Inn.
Following consultation with the Health Service Executive, Cavan County Council has issued a Do Not Consume Notice with immediate effect in respect of the Billis/Lavey Group Water Supply Scheme.
The warning was made in order to “protect the health” of all consumers of water supplied by the local cheme.
“Boiling your water will not render it safe to drink,” say the council, who ask that an alternative, safe source of drinking water is used for drinking, preparing drinks made with water, cooking and preparing food, brushing of teeth and/or gargling, and making ice.
An alternative supply is being provided from tankers at Lisgrey House and the Lavey Inn. “Remember to boil this water from the tanker before use for drinking or for food preparation. Please pass this information to your neighbours and friends,” say the council.
