Male in 'serious' condition after near drowning

A young man remains in what has been described as a “serious” condition following a near drowning incident at Lough Sheelin yesterday afternoon.
The boy was taken to CHI Temple Street after being recovered from the water shortly before 3pm, Tuesday, July 20.
The boy was taken to Dublin by air ambulance.

A Status Orange - High Temperature warning has been issued by Me Eireann for counties Cavan, Monaghan, south Leitrim, Roscommon, Longford, Westmeath, where maximum temperatures are expected to exceed 30 degrees Celsius in places right up until Friday.
A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána confirmed: “Gardaí attended the scene of an incident at Lough Sheelin yesterday afternoon, Tuesday 20th July 2021.
“A male youth was recovered from the water shortly before 3pm.”
They added: “He was taken to CHI, Temple Street where his condition is described as serious.”
“Inquiries are ongoing,” the spokesperson noted.
