Kingscourt social houses permitted
Part eight planning permission has been granted for three social houses to be built in the town of Kingscourt.
The proposed development was approved by the elected members attached to the Bailieborough-Cootehill Municipal District area. Three houses will be built at Fairmount Close in Kingscourt.
The proposal was proposed by Fianna Fáil’s Clifford Kelly and seconded by Sinn Féin’s Paddy McDonald.
Cllr Kelly commended the local authority executive for their due diligence in engaging with locals in the area prior to the matter coming before them for approval.
He said that he was aware that council officials had spoken with a neighbour in the area and those negotiations had yielded a positive resolution.
Cllr McDonald also commented. He said it was “great to see” a Part 8 planning application for social housing pass without controversy.
He further expressed hope that applications in the future could be done in a similar manner and with the “good will of the people”.
