Funding will address Drumfalda flooding
Funding of €76,500 has been approved for works at Drumfalda Ballybay as part of the Minor Works Flood Relief Scheme. The Flood Relief Scheme provides funding to Local Authorities to undertake minor flood mitigation works.
The Drumfalda Ballybay allocation has been welcomed by Fianna Fáil Deputy, Niamh Smyth: “I am pleased that this funding has been approved by the Minister for the Office of Public Works and Flood Relief. Flooding has been an issue in the area for longer than I care to remember and residents are understandably frustrated by the situation.”
The works will consist of the replacement of around 50 metres of stream culvert, road crossing and resurfacing of road. Deputy Smyth said support ofr the project is timely: “These are essential works that need to be carried out as soon as possible and I look forward to seeing this project progress as a matter of urgency.”
