Splash the cash for charities
You can make a splash with some cash for charity on Saturday, March 6, at the two Splash car wash facilities in Cavan Town. All donations will go to charities Pieta House and Féileacáin.
The two men behind this initiative are the proprietors of the Splash car wash stations at Kiernan’s Service Stations on the Ballinagh Road and Dublin Road, Jonathan Sheehan and Declan Harrison.
The donation for a car wash will be just €5 for cars, €7 for small vans and €10 for large vans. Those washing vehicles on the day will be volunteers so all money collected will go directly to the charities. The initiative will run between 9am and 6pm.
Everybody using the car wash facilities on that day will be entered into a raffle. The first prize of €250 is being donated by Jonathan and Declan.
They provide the complete car wash services including NCT washes and also offer a specialist car valeting service. They also clean the ambulances and paramedic vehicles.
They are open seven days a week at both locations.
Both men are most grateful to the following businesses for donating vouchers for the raffle: Fergal Carolan Painting, DTOne, Crowe’s Butchers, O’Neills Shop Drumalee, Veale’s Pharmacy, North Pole Fuels, Kiernans’ Service Station, CC Nails, MacManus Pharmacy, Sheelin Meats, Mac Gabhans Bar and Venue, Cian’s Tech World and Vodafone Cavan. The raffle will take place live on Facebook after 6pm on March 6.
Pieta House is a suicide and self-harm crisis centre, offering free and confidential counselling.
