New vaccine centre at Hotel Kilmore

The HSE had been in the process of trying to identify a suitable location with a view to establishing a vaccination site in Cavan.

A local TD has welcomed confirmation that a mass Covid-19 vaccination centre will be established in Cavan Town.

Cavan-Monaghan Fianna Fail Deputy Brendan Smith said in a statement issued this morning that it was his understanding that the centre will be established in the Hotel Kilmore.

“I welcome the roll-out of this vaccination programme which is critically important in the fight against the virus. I wish the HSE and all their healthcare partners, GPs, Nurses and Pharmacists every success in this important work” stated Deputy Smith.

The HSE had been in the process of trying to identify a suitable location with a view to establishing a vaccination site in Cavan.

Its understood the Country Club section of the hotel will be used by vaccination staff.

The deal to use the site was only agreed yesterday.
