Garda appeal followed armed robbery at Ryefield shop
Gardaí in Bailieborough are appealing for information from the public in relation to an armed raid at the Day-To-Day Shop at Ryefield, Virginia, at approximately 10am on Monday morning of this week.
A lone male entered the shop wielding an iron bar, threatened staff and demanded money, and quickly escaped with a sum of cash from the till.
A garda spokesperson at Bailieborough Garda Station said that the raider was wearing some type of dark mask to cover his face.
The gardaí are looking for a dark or greyish coloured Saab car, possibly from the 1993 era, in connection with their investigation.
If any members of the public were in or around that area before, during or after the incident, and have any dash cam footage, the gardaí would welcome it with a view to help to solve this crime. It is believed that the vehicle was used to get to the scene and away from it. It is not known if there were others in the car ready to drive him away from the scene.
